Recent Commission June 14, 2018 20:19

Last fall, R. asked me to create a one-of-a-kind commission for her, one which would fit a specific space in her art collection, and contain her favourite elements of my work. We collaborated and planned over the phone and in person, and by Christmas-time the work was underway.

The piece is called Hope Rising and measures approximately 31 by 42 inches.

I delivered it in May. Here is a photo of it hanging. We had a lot of fun collaborating.

ARTICULATIONS at Studio Sixty Six. December 15, 2017 18:31

Womb Study, 2016. Handwoven copper wire, Japanese paper, green and black patinas. Available through the exhibition.

ARTICULATIONS | November 30 2017 - January 20 2018 Co-curated by Studio Sixty Six and Myka Burke, Articulations (November 30-January 20) features the artwork of 39 women/femmes artists working in the National Capital Region (unceded Algonquin territory). As a landmark year in terms of Canadian colonial history, it is a crucial time to identify ways in which our country can and should grow. Historically and currently, female-identifying artists (especially those of colour) are, sadly, underrepresented in Canada’s art galleries. As a gallery run by women, Studio Sixty Six wishes to focus our efforts towards encouraging local Canadian women/femmes artists. Co-Curator Myka Burke interviewed all 39 artists regarding their experiences and perspectives as women/femme artists working in the region, compiled and available to listen during the exhibition and on a special online minisite (

10% of all artwork sales from the duration of the exhibition will be donated to OCTEVAW (Ottawa Coalition to End Violence Against Women).
